True Love Is Forever...

I finished reading a book called "The Spinal Cord Perception" from one of my new favorite authors, Josh S. Porter. It was his debut novel from 2005, and as he decribes it as a "all guts, no glory" book. This fictional book basically revolves around the life of a substitute teacher named David Rivers, who is a depressed man and has hallucinations of this little black creature (called a Llapasllaly) he often sees that follows him around and destroys the people around him, but when he meets a fellow teacher and the girl of his dreams, in which they eventually fall in love with each other, despite all the choas that happens around him (and her). The little black creature still haunts his life, but it can't ruin the love he has for her. The ending is one of the craziest endings i've ever read, but its meaning behind it leaves a hope in the reader. Even though this book may make your stomach queezy, this book hits right to the heart of the reader, leaving a meaningful message that "True love does last forever". Its not the best novel per-say, since it is his first book, but in the end I think this story will leave a lasting memory, with Josh Porter's dark (and sometimes comedic) writing style.
